What do our programmes do?
Whether you’re enquiring for your school, workplace or other community groups, we are always happy to share more about our work and what we advocate for.
SOSD’s outreach programnes hope to foster compassion and responsible decision-making in people of all ages, from preschool to adults. Our sharing plans to include core values—resilience, care, responsibility, respect, integrity, and harmony—in ways that align with each age group’s ability to understand and apply them.
By engaging people through interactions with animals, we aim to build social awareness, encourage empathy, and reduce pet abandonment. With these values, we hope the younger generation will grow into responsible individuals who contribute to a more compassionate society.
Educational & Merchandise Booth
Our Educational Booths offer a hands-on way to learn about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the challenges faced by Singapore’s street dogs. Visitors can also discover the types of dogs available for adoption and how they can provide a loving home to a rescue dog.
In addition, we can bring along SOSD merchandise for sale, with all proceeds going towards our rescue efforts. Through informative displays, meaningful conversations, and fundraising activities, we hope to inspire more people to adopt, support, and advocate for our street dogs.
Assembly Talks
Our Assembly Talks bring engaging and educational sessions to schools, raising awareness about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the plight of Singapore’s street dogs. Through real rescue stories, we inspire students to develop empathy, compassion, and a greater understanding of how they can make a difference in the lives of animals.
Values In Action (VIA)
At SOSD, we believe in nurturing compassion, responsibility, and empathy in the next generation. Our Values in Action (VIA) programmes for schools provide students with hands-on experiences and thoughtful reflections through advocacy or fundraising initiatives, allowing them to develop valuable life skills while making a positive impact on the lives of rescue animals.
Canine Chums
Canine Chums is a programme for tertiary schools that promotes adoption, responsible pet ownership, and acceptance of Singapore Specials. Through meaningful interactions with our rescue dogs, we aim to not only educate, but also bring joy to students, helping them relieve stress and brighten their day.
