Milo was rescued from Sungei Buloh after he was seen roaming the area and approaching passers-by. While he seemed friendly at times, there were also moments where he snapped at people. We eventually learned that Milo had lived with a family as a puppy, but was later sent to a fish farm where he wasn’t welcome. He was often beaten and kept running away. After joining the shelter, it took him almost a year to feel comfortable enough to wear a leash and go on walks.
Milo is still sensitive, especially if there’s pressure on his neck or if the leash tangles around his legs. He needs experienced handlers who are mindful of triggers in the environment. That said, he thoroughly enjoys his evening strolls and loves exploring the open fields near the shelter. He’s affectionate with those he knows, always asking for scratches. On rainy days, Milo gets nervous and seeks comfort from his caregivers.
