Personality:

Tommy was rescued after his feeders discovered that a wire had tightened around his paw, cutting off blood circulation. It was a close call — any later, and he might have needed an amputation. He was warded at the vet for two weeks for close monitoring and daily wound management.

Recovery wasn’t smooth at first. His paw didn’t heal as expected, so further tests were done before the right treatment plan was found. Understandably, Tommy was very uncooperative during bandage changes — the pain was intense, and he was scared. Thankfully, with time and the right medication, his paw began to heal, and he could finally be discharged back to the shelter.

At the shelter, Tommy is still learning to trust people. He can get uncomfortable and may snap when he feels threatened, but we’ve started seeing glimpses of his happier side — especially when he’s out on walks, which he now enjoys.

We’re hopeful that with continued care and patience, Tommy will continue to heal both physically and emotionally. Once his paw has fully recovered, he will also begin treatment for heartworm.
