SOSD Pawsitive Progress

SOSD Pawsitive Progress is about growth, development, and giving our rescue dogs the best possible chance to thrive.

1 in 3 dogs arrive at our shelter fearful, shy, or unsure of their surroundings. Without proper support and rehabilitation, dogs with more complex needs (such as behavioural or medical challenges) are less likely to be adopted. Even after adoption, some may struggle to adjust to a new home, showing signs of fear, stress, or difficulty settling in, and in some cases may be returned to the shelter.

Since our founding in 2011, we have rehomed over 2,000 dogs. In 2025, 47 dogs moved into foster homes and 57 dogs were successfully adopted. We provide essential training and behavioural rehabilitation to help dogs build confidence, improve socialisation, and increase their chances of successful rehoming. These efforts are especially important for rescue dogs who may require longer-term behavioural support to transition successfully into a home environment.

Your support goes beyond rescue alone; it enables the training, rehabilitation, and long-term care programmes that improve dogs’ confidence, social skills, and overall readiness for adoption, while reducing the risk of return or abandonment. Through daily enrichment and structured rehabilitation in our shelter, dogs develop trust, emotional security, and the behavioural skills needed for home life. Together, these efforts increase their readiness for rehoming to fosterers or adopters and support more successful, long-term placements.

Your donation will help an SOSD dog move one step closer to a brighter future, giving them the second chance they truly deserve to thrive in a forever home.
