Special Boy Rangi

Rangi was a very special boy – He was a hulking Rottweiler, a gentle giant who ended up in our shelter because of unfortunate life circumstances.

He would have had a beautiful life – running in the fields of New Zealand. A NZ rescue group raised funds for him to be flown there to his new home. 2 weeks before his departure, Rangi passed away – of bloat. It was sudden, unexpected, and devastating.

Today, Rangi’s ashes were scattered, in west Auckland, on a beautiful beach, where he would have been running today.

Life is often unexpected. We wish for fairy tale endings, but they sometimes do not happen. What is important, is that there are such wonderful people in the world, who care for the unwanted dogs, regardless of country and boundaries. Thank you, Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming New Zealand, for your love and dedication to Rangi.
